While visiting my sister-in-law in Chicago my curiosity got the best of me and I leaned over the railing of one of the basement floors to snap this pic. Steph actually looked down from the top. No way I was going to do that!
It made my stomach turn looking up. I can’t imagine what it would have been like looking down. This kid hates heights…

Well… Technically I took this picture facing north, but I was still further west than St. Louis. I just got back from Woodward, OK were my family gathers every year for the week of Thanksgiving. Minus the drive, it was a really nice break from the day-to-day routine at home. It was great to see family and get to catch up with everyone. It was also my aunt and uncles first time to see Viv.
This picture is taken about 5 miles north of our property. (we say property cause it’s in the sticks) This windmills are so big that we can actually see them from the house. There are about 50 of these on the windmill farm. Just west of town there is another windmill farm that has another 50 or so. Not to go all tree hugger on you, but it’s nice to see Oklahoma capturing that wind that comes sweeping down the plains.
You can call me lazy, but I prefer to say that I didn’t cut the grass so that I could have this amazing photo opportunity. Well, something like that…

I love visiting my grandparents in northwest Arkansas. Once you get away from everything Wal-Mart, there is some absolutely beautiful countryside. My grandparents live on Lake Windsor in Bella Vista and have an amazing view from their house. I was sitting in the living room talking with the family when we all noticed the sunset. So I did what any other nature loving tech geek would do. I grabbed my camera and ran down to the dock. As always, a photo doesn’t do it justice but I still think it turned out pretty amazing.

I’m visiting my grandparents this weekend in Bella Vista, Arkansas and I’ve been really excited about working on my new hobby, astrophotography. They live on Lake Windsor and with the fall colors in full swing and a clear moonlit night, I figured this is probably the best chance I’ve got. So I asked my dad who also came to visit if he wanted to head down to the lake with me to take some pictures. Since it is in the 30s outside we bundled up and headed down. It was incredibly clear. In fact, once we got out on the dock we didn’t even need our flashlights anymore. These are some of the shots we got. Hope you like them, and if you’re a pro go easy on me. I’m still learning.
